History

The Wheatland Manor House is mentioned in chronicles of the Civil War, and served as a hospital during several battles. James Mason, the wartime owner, was first cousin to the Confederate Secretary of State. When the Secretary's Winchester residence, Selma, was burned during Federal occupation, Wheatland was used as his second home and headquarters. The Secretary met with many important Confederate military and political leaders in this reserve location.

Since 1974, Headley's Antiques has been carrying on the family tradition of quality craftsmanship within a casual atmosphere. Everything from museum pieces to grandma's old rocker receives equal attention for the same modest cost.
